ROANE COUNTY, W.Va. — A West Virginia State Police trooper was struck by gunfire while responding to a call Wednesday.
The trooper was shot while responding to a call of suicidal threats at a home on Red Oak Drive in Walton.
The trooper’s injuries are non-life-threatening. First responders from Roane and Kanawha counties are responding to the scene.
Officers are still working with the person in question, who they said is barricaded inside the house.
