MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The postseason accolades have continued to come in for Martinsburg’s unbeaten state championship team.
The Bulldogs this week finished the year ranked No. 19 in USA Today’s Super 25 national high school football rankings.
Martinsburg in 2017 won its second straight Class AAA state championship, beating Spring Valley 44-16 in the title game earlier this month.
With a 14-0 campaign, the Bulldogs will enter 2018 having won 28 straight games and six of the last eight Class AAA football titles.
Mater Dei (15-0) out of Santa Ana, California finished as the No. 1 team in the Super 25, followed by IMG Academy out of Florida.
Martinsburg also ended the year as a unanimous No. 1 in the state’s MetroNews high school football power rankings, receiving all 30 first place votes every week of the season.
