Charleston police seek man following shooting

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Charleston police are looking for a man allegedly involved in a shooting Saturday.

Harold Battle

Officers said 47-year-old Harold Battle, of Charleston, shot 35-year-old Brandon Hearns in the leg. The shooting occurred at the Vista View apartments at Renaissance Circle.

According to authorities, the shooting happened after an argument between Battle, Hearns and other people. Battle allegedly shot Hearns, who ran down several flights of stairs to seek help before collapsing. Hearns is listed in critical condition.

Police said Battle has a history of crime in Charleston and should be considered armed and dangerous. Battle is wanted on malicious wounding charges.
