WVU announced in September that Ahmad would not be available for the first half of the season. The junior forward has been practicing with the team.
Ahmad averaged just more than 11 points a game last season. He also pulled down 4.3 rebounds per contest.
No. 6 WVU is 13-1 without Ahmad including a 2-0 start in Big 12 Conference play. The Mountaineers will have two more conference games without him including this Saturday at home against No. 7 Oklahoma and Tuesday, Jan. 9 at home against Baylor.
