No threat against Morgantown High School

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — There is no threat against Morgantown High School, local police confirmed late Sunday night.

Police began investigating an alleged threat of a shooting at Morgantown High School shared on social media, but have learned that the threat is directed against a different school outside of the state.

Officers were able to confirm that the post was about Monticello High School in Virginia, not Morgantown High School. All schools in Monongalia County were closed Monday due to concerns over the weather.

The threat is under investigation today in Virginia.
