MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Police are searching for one suspect following an attempted robbery at United Bank in Morgantown.

Police responded at 11:45 a.m. Thursday to the bank on Earl L. Core Road in the Sabraton area of Morgantown after a hold up alarm was triggered.

Chief Ed Preston said a white man in his mid 20’s to early 30’s, approximately 5’10” with a medium build, wearing a red toboggan, black and red flannel shirt, and blue jeans with dark colored gloves is suspected.

The suspect entered the bank and provided a note to the teller demanding money. He then fled the scene on foot and was last seen heading towards Sabraton Avenue. At this time, it’s not clear what he took from the bank. He did not display a weapon during the incident.

Anyone with any information is asked to call the Morgantown Police Department at (304) 284-7522.
