CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The Thrasher Group has donated $100,000 to the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center to assist in renovation and restoration of one of Clarksburg’s most historic landmarks.

The Theater, which first opened in 1913, has played host to many events throughout the past 100-plus years. Thanks to the support of many individuals and corporations, especially the Thrasher Group, the theater will reopen its doors in late spring of 2018.

The entirely updated and renovated facility will play host to a wide array of events that include local, regional, and national acts. The theater’s solid original design and updates will allow for theatrical events, comedy, concerts, lectures, dance recitals, corporate events, and social gatherings.

As a West Virginia-based firm, Thrasher not only understands the value of investing in the City of Clarksburg and surrounding areas, but is also keenly aware of the history and importance of the Robinson Grand Theater.

“Improving the communities where we live and work is at the core of what we do at Thrasher,” CEO Chad Riley said in a press release issued Thursday. “For years we have worked with the City of Clarksburg, and are proud to support the restoration of this historic landmark that will have positive effects for so many residents throughout the region.”

“We are truly excited to have the support of the Thrasher Group behind this amazing project,” Ryan Tolley, Executive Director of the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center, said in the release. “The Thrasher Group not only improves communities through their expert team of designers, engineers, and architects, they also contribute financially to local projects that make an impact!

“The passion and support they have provided helps to ensure that our project is a major success for the North Central West Virginia Region,” Tolley added.

The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center is one of the region’s largest economic development projects. Located in Clarksburg’s Central Business District, the center is undergoing a $15 Million renovation with a soft-opening slated for June 2018.
