CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The trial for Joshua Nicewarner will begin on March 12, after the former Bridgeport High School coach pleaded not guilty before Harrison County Magistrate Judge Tammy Marple on Friday.

Nicewarner was formerly arraigned on three charges, including sexual abuse, of which he was indicted by a Harrison County Grand Jury on Jan. 4.

The indictment included one count of distribution of obscene matter to a minor, one count of soliciting a minor via computer and one count of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian or person in position of trust.

The 34-year-old was arrested on July 21 following the execution of search warrants at Bridgeport’s athletic facilities, as well as Liberty High School, where he was employed as a physical education teacher.

He was then charged with two felonies related to the attempted seduction of a 14-year-old girl.
