NWS: 5 counties under storm warning

Five counties are in the warning area.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The National Weather Service placed five West Virginia counties under a Winter Storm Warning until 10 p.m. Tuesday with heavy snow expected.

Bands of heavier snow bringing up to four inches of accumulation is forecasted to fall over parts of Kanawha, Putnam, Cabell, Wayne and Lincoln counties.

Meteorologists said motorists should be prepared at times to experience significant reduction in visibility.

Most of the rest of the state remains under a Winter Weather Advisory through Tuesday.
