Sportsline: Fairmont Sr. coach Dave Retton on dominant start

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Fairmont Senior boys basketball coach Dave Retton was a guest this week on the MetroNews “Statewide Sportsline,” looking at his team’s 10-0 season so far.

The Polar Bears have won two straight state championships and defeated Mingo Central by 55 points back on Monday.

“We’re in an exciting part of our season and we’re thankful for where we’re at and appreciative of what our kids our doing. We’re enjoying the ride,” Retton said. “Overall, we are shooting over 50 percent from the field on the year. They’re a very confident group, but we need to play hard for 32 minutes.”

Eight of Fairmont’s 10 wins have been by 29 points or more.

The complete interview is posted at the top of the page.
