PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Investigators have determined the fire that killed a Parkersburg man Friday afternoon started when something to close to a heating source caught on fire.
The body of the 47-year-old victim was found on the floor of the first story apartment at 1208 Camden Avenue. A neighbor smelled smoke and called 911 at about 5:00 p.m.
There were no working smoke alarms in the apartment, investigators said. They’ve determined the fire was accidental.
The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released.
