Investigators identify Greenbrier County murder victim

GREENBRIER COUNTY, W.Va. — A suspect in a Greenbrier County murder is in police custody on an unrelated charge, according to Greenbrier County Sheriff Bruce Sloan.

In a news release, he identified the murder victim as Shaela Lynn McCoy Abren, 32, of Webster Springs.  She had reportedly been living most recently in Raleigh County.

Abren’s body was found in the Blue Bend area on Thursday, Jan. 18.

The murder suspect was not being publicly identified as of Sunday morning.
