Fayette County crash sends two to hospital

FAYETTEVILLE, W.Va. — Authorities are investigating the cause of a three-vehicle accident that temporarily shut down U.S. 19 in Fayettee County on Sunday.

The wreck occurred around 12:30 Sunday afternoon near the Mount Hope exit.

Upon arriving on scene, first responders found two of the vehicles were blocking the southbound lanes, and the third, which had rolled onto its roof, was blocking the road northbound.

Only two vehicle occupants were transported to the hospital for the treatment of potential injuries sustained in the accident.

Deputies and members of the Mount Hope and Oak Hill Fire Departments had the roadway back open to traffic flow in only about 30 minutes after arriving on scene.  Jan Care and General Ambulance were on scene to provided medical care and transport.

This accident remains under investigation by Deputy First Class S.K. Neal and Deputy E.S. Pridemore of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
