UPDATE: Investigators believe fire that killed Martinsburg teenager was arson

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A 13-year-old boy was a killed in what authorities believe was an intentially set fire in Martinsburg Monday morning, authorities said.

The blaze happened at a duplex in the 200 block of North Church Street. It was reported at around 1 a.m.

According to the Herald-Mail newspaper, the boy’s mother identified her son as Jeffery Bailey Jr. He was autistic. There were a half dozen people initially taken to the hospital in connection with the blaze.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office and Martinsburg police are investigating the arson.
