WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Tug Valley last week handed Ravenswood its first loss of the season, 60-56, in the King Coal Classic.
Tyler May and Levi Davis scored 15 points apiece in that win, while Mason Layne scored 14 points and Jonathan Blankenship totaled nine points.
The Panthers are 5-0 against Class A in-state opponents this season and have impressive AA wins over North Marion (67-56) and Mingo Central (40-37). Two of Tug Valley’s losses have also come to AA contenders in Chapmanville (84-69) and Westside (82-79).
Overall, the Panthers enter the weekend 10-4 overall, having won five straight games.
Tug Valley is rated No. 2 among Class A teams in the MetroNews Power Index, boasting the second-highest strength of schedule in Class A as well.
