The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Department announced Saturday afternoon deputies had charged Gary Murphy, 27, of Eskdale, with first degree murder following the shooting death of Joey Rose, 37, of Cabin Creek.

Murphy was detained Friday night by deputies who were called to the scene in Eskdale. They said at the time 13 shell casings had been found at the scene and the gun believed used in the shooting.
