Cole Plants, No. 1 Parkersburg South capture 11th straight win

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — No. 1 Parkersburg South jumped out to a quick start and went on for a 77-60 win over No. 6 Wheeling Park on Friday night in a battle of top 10 Class AAA teams out of the MetroNews Power Index.

It was the annual Anna’s Army Game for Parkersburg South as the program, community and fans continue their push in raising awareness and donations for the fight against Friedreich Ataxia.

Cole Plants led the way for Parkersburg South (13-1), finishing with 25 points and 13 rebounds. Shane Snider and Brayden Mooney both scored 12 points apiece, while Seth Fallon added 11 points in the win.

Parkersburg South hit 10 3s on the night overall.

Wheeling Park (9-3) was led by Alex Vargo who scored 16 points – the loss snapped the Patriots’ six game winning streak.

It was the 11th straight win for Parkersburg South, which faces another challenge Saturday in Logan (OH).
