UPDATE: Roadway reopened after multi-vehicle accident on I-68

PRESTON COUNTY, W.Va. — A multi-vehicle accident has shut down both lanes of I-68 west bound between the Bruceton Mills and Coopers Rock.

Six vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred around 8 a.m. Monday near mile marker 19.

Authorities said the drive broke abruptly after not expecting to see a tow truck driver pulling another vehicle out of the median.

Four people were transported. Authorities were uncertain of the extent of their injuries, but they are believed to be minor.

Traffic was backed up for several miles. The roadway has since reopened.

Few details are available at this time, and it’s unclear if there are any injuries. West Virginia State Police is investigating.
