CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice announced Friday he has appointed Chanda Adkins to represent the 31st District in the House of Delegates, replacing Lynne Arvon who now serves in the state Senate on behalf of the Ninth District.

Adkins was sworn in the same day.

Adkins is the director of West Virginians for Health Freedom, an organization that advocates for parental choice regarding their children’s vaccination shots. The group is also focused on informing parents regarding the dangers of vaccines.

Adkins is also a substitute teacher and the girls basketball coach at Greater Beckley Christian School.
