INSTITUTE, W.Va. — Class AA No. 2 Chapmanville Regional defeated Class AAA defending state champion Huntington 60-42 this week in the Little General Shootout.

Tigers’ standout Drew Williamson led the way with 20 points and 11 rebounds in the win. Williamson also became Chapmanville’s all-time leading scorer in the win as well.

The Tigers used a 26-3 run, starting in the third quarter, to take control of what was a tightly contested game.

Huntington (12-5) was playing without its leading scorer Mikal Dawson, out with a hand injury.

Chapmanville improved to 14-1 with the win. The Tigers this week are rated No. 7 overall in the MetroNews Power Index, No. 2 among Class AA teams.
