No. 1 Parkersburg South’s winning streak hits 15 games

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — No. 1 Parkersburg South enters play this week having won 15 straight games, going back to its lone loss to Teays Valley Christian back on December 20.

The Patriots (17-1) last week defeated Hurricane 71-66 from West Virginia State on Wednesday, beat Ripley 90-44 on Friday night and then knocked off Wheeling Park 61-53 on Saturday.

The 15 straight wins are a school record, while the 17-1 record is also best in school history as well.

Cole Plants continues to lead the Patriots in scoring, putting up 19 points per game, while Shane Snider is averaging 15 points per game and Seth Fallon nine points per contest.

In the past six games, Plants has gone 41 of 45 from the free throw line. Plants put up 26 points alone last week in that win over Hurricane.

The Patriots have another big week upcoming with an OVAC 5A semifinal against Indian Creek (OH), a home contest against top 10 George Washington on Thursday and then the OVAC championship game or third place game this weekend.
