Trump nominates Kleeh to US District Court seat

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump announced his 11th wave of judicial nominees Monday, including for the judicial seat on the District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.

Trump selected Thomas Kleeh for the position. Kleeh serves as a litigator for Steptoe & Johnson PLLC, an energy law firm with six locations in West Virginia. Kleeh also serves as staff counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee of the state Senate, a position he has held since 2015. He is an alumnus of West Virginia University and the WVU College of Law.

U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., applauded Trump’s announcement, saying: “Tom exhibits a high level of intellect and has demonstrated fairness and adherence to the rule of law throughout his career. He will bring a vast level of experience to the bench, and I am pleased that President Trump has nominated him to serve West Virginia in the judiciary.”
