PARKWOOD, Fla. — The former Hurricane High School head football coach has been reported safe following a school shooting Wednesday afternoon in Florida.
Willis May is the head coach of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School football team. A former student shot multiple people, killing at least 17 people. The shooting is the fourth deadliest school shooting in United States history.
Corey May, Willis May’s son, tweeted he, his father and relative Jordan May were safe.
“Me and Jordan are home and he is locked in his office safe!!! Thank you for the prayers and concerns,” Corey May tweeted.
Willis May became the head football coach at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in 2012. He served as head coach at Hurricane High School between 2004 and 2011.
