Woods leads Trinity past Cameron for 1A OVAC championship

ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OH. — Trinity won the 1A OVAC boys basketball championship on Saturday night, pulling away in the second half to beat Cameron 52-40.

Trinity led 22-21 at the break and 38-33 heading into the fourth.

Daniel Woods led the Warriors (15-5) with 18 points in the win, while Joel Robertson added 11 points.

Cameron (17-4) was led by senior standout Colby Brown who finished with 18 points. The Dragons had entered Saturday’s contest having won six straight games and 12 of 13 overall.

Trinity will close out its regular season this coming week against Tucker County, while Cameron will face Pendleton County prior to sectional play beginning.
