Gallery: Martinsburg girls advance in sectional play over Hedgesville

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Martinsburg had to battle to win its girls basketball Region II, Section I opener over Hedgesville on Monday night, beating the Eagles 45-40.

Martinsburg, the section’s top seed, trailed at the half 21-19.

Prosperity Stitt led Martinsburg (16-7) with 17 points, while Kyaira Page scored 12 points in the win.

Hedgesville ends its season with a 7-15 record.

The Bulldogs will host Spring Mills for the sectional title on Wednesday.
