Final 2018 MetroNews HS girls basketball Power Index

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Buckhannon-Upshur has finished the regular season as the No. 1 team in the final edition of the girls basketball Power Index, presented by Critical Power Management.

The Buccaneers entered postseason play with an overall 21-1 record, with its lone loss coming back on December 19.

Buckhannon-Upshur is scheduled to host Morgantown Thursday in a sectional championship game. The Mohigans entered the postseason at 17-5 and are rated No. 4 overall, the third highest team out of Class AAA.

Parkersburg South (18-3) is overall No. 2, followed by No. 3 North Marion (21-1), Morgantown and No. 5 Parkersburg (17-5).

 

The MetroNews Power Index is a computer based formula that factors in strength of schedule. Records listed are for games played through the regular season.
