Updated MVB Bank Champions Cup standings through swimming

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — A look below at the updated MVB Bank Champions Cup standings through swimming after George Washington (boys) and Parkersburg (girls) won team championships.

The MVB Bank Champions Cup, presented by the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission (WVSSAC), recognizes the top performing high schools in the state for their overall athletic and academic achievement.

The comprehensive all-sports award – sponsored by MVB Bank – will be presented to the overall boys’ and overall girls’ athletic programs in Class A, Class AA and Class AAA. A total of six MVB Bank Champions Cups will be awarded each academic year, beginning this spring.

The recipients of the MVB Bank Champions Cups will be selected by a point system that will reward the top eight finishers in each state championship sponsored by the WVSSAC.

Points are earned by finishing first (100), second (97), third (95), fourth (93), fifth (91), sixth (89), seventh (87) and eighth (85). Additional points are earned for the graduation rate of each school: 100%-97% (100 points), 96.99%-94% (97), 93.99%-91% (95), 90.99%-88% (93), 87.99%-85% (91), 84.99%-82% (89), 81.99%-79% (87) and 78.99%-76% (85).
