Kanawha County student accused of making threat appears in court

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The student accused of making a threat toward George Washington High School took part in his preliminary hearing Friday.

The magistrate said there was enough probable cause to send the charges against 18-year-old Corey Duff to a grand jury.

Duff was charged with making threats of terroristic acts. He allegedly posted a video to Snapchat of him pointing a pistol to the screen, holding it upside down to show the extended magazine. The video included the caption “plenty for errbody.”

His bond was changed to $50,000 property with the condition of home confinement.

If convicted, Duff would face between one and three years in prison.
