HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Jon Elmore matched his career high of 38 points, and shared the court with his older brother Ot for a stretch as Marshall dominated Charlotte 103-75 in a senior night with family trappings.
C.J. Burks added 16 points and Darius George scored 13 for the Herd (20-9, 11-5), which tied a single-season school record with its 15th win at the Henderson Center.
Ajdin Penava fouled out but not before producing 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks.
Marshall shot 54 percent overall and made 16-of-38 from 3, led by Elmore’s 9-of-12 deep shooting.
His brother assisted on two of those 3s, and Ot even sank a couple himself.
“That was the most fun I’ve had playing basketball in a long time,” said Jon Elmore, a junior who ranks 13th on the Conference USA career scoring list. “Had my brother out there with me, and he hit a couple 3s. The atmosphere was great and we sent the seniors out the right way. I wouldn’t trade any of these memories for the world.”
Elmore scored in double figures for the 64th consecutive game and reached 30 points for the eighth time.
Jon Davis scored 23 to lead Charlotte (5-22, 1-15), which has dropped 14 straight games.
