CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — While Harrison County Schools will continue to support its employees until the work stoppage has ended, it will not interrupt the girls’ basketball sectional tournament.
The Class AA, Region II sectional between Bridgeport and Lincoln High Schools will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the WACO Center.
The Class A, Region II boys’ basketball sectional will be at 7 p.m. at the Braxton County Armory, as South Harrison High School takes on Doddridge County. The Class AA boys’ sectional will begin on Wed. More information is forthcoming.
However, all other athletic and extracurricular events are yet to be determined.
“Decisions regarding future activities and the opening of school will be made on a day-to-day basis and by 5 p.m.,” Harrison County Superintendent Dr. Mark Manchin said in a news release issued Monday.
“After discussions with coaches, school administrators, and local union representatives, it is with a unified voice that Harrison County Schools will continue to support its employees with the closure of its facilities for all activities, including extracurriculars, until the work stoppage has ended.”
