Class AAA defending champ Huntington wins section over Hurricane

ONA, W.Va. — Class AAA defending state champion Huntington defeated Hurricane 63-57 on Friday night for the Region 4, Section 2 championship from Cabell Midland High School.

Huntington held a 30-28 advantage at the half and 50-45 after three quarters.

The Highlanders were led by Bryce Damous who scored 19 points and Mikal Dawson who added 17 points in the win.

Nick Muto scored 20 points for Hurricane, while Austin Dearing added 16 points in the loss.

Huntington (16-6) will host Parkersburg on Tuesday in regional play, while Hurricane (11-12) will travel to Parkersburg South.

Wednesday: Parkersburg 84, Ripley 43 — Ripley eliminated

Friday: Parkersburg South 52, Parkersburg 50
