Charges filed in Upshur County death

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Authorities have charged a 65-year-old Upshur County man with murder in relation to a call originally believed to be a self-inflicted stab wound.

Leo McWilliams was found unconscious at a home on West Victoria Street in Buckhannon with a laceration wound to the neck. He was pronounced dead on scene and sent to the state medical examiner’s office.

A second man, Timothy McWilliams, was also on scene and had suffered a laceration wound to the forearm. He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital for treatment and released to the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office.

Timothy McWilliams was seen before Magistrate Coffman and held without bail at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.
