Harrison County releases pending school calendar changes

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — Following a pledge from the state superintendent of schools that instructional time lost during the statewide work stoppage of teachers and service personnel will be made up, local school boards are waiting to adopt calendar changes.

Harrison County Superintendent Dr. Mark Manchin will propose changes to the 2017-2018 school calendar during the Board of Education meeting March 27.

With the changes, the last instructional day for students will be June 8. There are no changes to graduation dates.

Other changes include a full day of instruction on March 22, previously a day for parent-teacher conferences, March 30 has been converted to an early dismissal, and April 9 is a full day of instruction.

Spring Break will be April 2 through 6.
