Arrest made in Mingo murder case

DINGESS, W.Va. — A man is in custody on murder charges following a shooting death in Mingo County, authorities said.

It’s alleged Shane Donald Dempsey, 24, shot two men Sunday in the Twelve Pole area near Dingess. One of the two men died, the Mingo County Sheriff’s Department said.

Dempsey was charged with murder and malicious wounding. He’s being held without bail in the Southwestern Regional Jail where he was booked Sunday morning.

The names of the victims haven’t been released.
