PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Kentucky man was charged Thursday in connection with the murder of a police officer.
Kentucky State Police said John Russell Hall allegedly shot Pikeville Police Officer Scotty Hamilton late Tuesday night.
Authorities took Hall into custody around 11 a.m. Thursday.
He faces charges of murder of a police officer and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. He was transported to the Pike County Detention Center.
