Fayette woman arrested after children found present during fatal overdose

OAK HILL, W.Va. — A Fayette County woman faces felony charges after an overdose call.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department said they responded to the Shilo Mobile Home Court in Oak Hill at around 7:20 Friday morning. Upon arrival, they found a man deceased from an apparent overdose.

Charliegh Snodgrass, 31 of Oak Hill.

Charliegh Snodgrass, 31 of Oak Hill, was found unconscious under the influence of Xanax. Two children, ages 13 and 4, were present during the incident. The 13 year-old was released to a family member while the 4 year-old is with Child Protective Services.

Snodgrass faces a felony count of Gross Child Neglect Creating Risk of Serious Injury. She is being held at the Southern Regional Jail after being unable to post $5,000 bond.

Authorities are still waiting for the male’s official cause of death. Deputies are also looking for other individuals possibly involved in his death.
