Justice appoints retired auditor, House doorkeeper to House of Delegates

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Jim Justice announced Thursday he appointed Sharon Lewis Malcolm to the 39th District in the House of Delegates.

Malcolm, a Charleston resident, will replace former Delegate Ron Walters, who resigned earlier this month following an investigation into a lien against a woman in Wayne County.

Malcolm filed to run for the seat on Jan. 26, according to the Secretary of State’s Office.

Malcolm worked as an auditor for the state before retiring. She was also the first female to serve as a doorkeeper and as Sergeant at Arms for the House of Delegates.
