OCEANA, W.Va. — A weekend assault remains under investigation by multiple departments.

According to Wyoming County Prosecuting Attorney Michael Cochran, a video of the assault was posted to the social media app Snapchat before being uploaded to Facebook. It showed several people assault a man multiple times.

Cochran said Monday the Oceana Police Department will announce charges against the suspects early Tuesday.

“An Oceana Police Officer is coming over tomorrow to file charges,” he told MetroNews affiliate WJLS.

The victim went to a hospital for treatment following the incident but his current condition is unknown. The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department is assisting Oceana Police with the investigation.
