Police ID victims of fatal Elkins crash

ELKINS, W.Va. — Authorities have released the names of the three people who died in a single vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Randolph County.

Russell Wilfong, 61, Clairie Wilfong, 59, and Thomas Wilfong, 36, each died as a result of the crash. Thomas and Clairie Wilfong were pronounced dead on the scene. Russell Wilfong died as a result of his injuries while in transport to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Sgt. Brown of the Elkins Police Department said the vehicle had veered off the road, hit the ditch line and flipped while the three were traveling along the Beverly five-lane. The cause of the crash is not yet determined.
