Authorities investigate apparent homicide in Marion County

MARION COUNTY, W.Va. — One person is in custody in relation to the death of a man hunters found in a wooded area Saturday.

Josephus Coburn of Marion County was found near the Monongalia and Marion County line off of Route 73. According to authorities, Coburn had been reported as missing the day before.

His body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office, where it was determined that he had died of a homicide.

No further details are being released at this time. The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate.
