Fairmont man charged in March 14 shooting

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A Marion County man is facing a murder charge after police say the accused admitting to shooting and killing another man.

Deshawn David Glover, 20, of Fairmont, is charged in the March 14 shooting of Josephus Coburn off of a private roadway near 291 Kisner Hill Road near Fairmont.

According to the criminal complaint, Coburn’s body was discovered Saturday, March 24 near the Monongalia-Marion County lines.

Glover is also being charged with grand larceny for stealing a 2006 GMC Sierra on March 21 on Market Street in Fairmont.

It remains unclear if the two crimes are connected. Marion County Sheriff Jimmy Riffle did not return a call from WAJR before end of the business day Wednesday.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
