Berkeley County jury finds siblings guilty on charges related to murder

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Berkeley County jury found siblings, a Virginia man and Berkeley County woman, guilty Thursday on charges related to a Jan. 2017 fatal shooting.

Kevin Hamill, 29, of Winchester, Virginia, was found guilty on charges of first-degree murder, burglary, conspiracy to commit robbery, grand larceny and being prohibited from possessing a firearm in connection with the death of 27-year-old Ramon Walker, of Martinsburg.

Courtney Hamill, 19, of Inwood, West Virginia, was found guilty of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit robbery, as well as two counts of burglary.

Kevin Hamill faces life in prison without the chance of parole, while Courtney Hamill could spend life in prison with the possibility of parole after 15 years.

Sentencing for the siblings is scheduled for June 4 at 10 a.m.
