3-time defending AAA softball champ Hurricane stays perfect

HURRICANE, W.Va. — Hurricane continued its early-season dominance on Wednesday night, knocking off Spring Valley 11-1 in the second game of a double header after beating Woodrow Wilson earlier in the day.

Caiti Mathes led the Redskins with three hits, including a home run, and three RBIs in the win.

It’s the fifth win by at least 10-runs for Hurricane (9-0) this season.

The Redskins, who are going for a fourth straight Class AAA state championship, have only given up two runs all year.
