Victim in Monongalia County train accident identified

WESTOVER, W.Va. — 35-year-old Kristopher Ryan Barlow has been identified as the victim in Wednesday’s train accident.

The accident occurred before 10 a.m. Wednesday morning on the Westover side of the Joseph Bartolo Memorial Bridge.

Barlow is a Rupert, West Virginia native.

He remains in Ruby Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

A press spokesperson for Norfolk Southern Railways said employees tried to make contact with Barlow before the accident occurred. Barlow had been walking along the tracks.

Railroad police investigators from the Pittsburgh division of Norfolk Southern Railways are handling the case.
