RACHEL, W.Va. — Class AA No. 1 Bridgeport rallied from a 7-4 seventh inning deficit on Thursday night to beat North Marion on the road 11-7 in eight innings.

The win served as Bridgeport’s season opener as the Indians (1-0) are looking for a fifth straight Class AA state championship.

Drew Harbert hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh to erase Bridgeport’s deficit, tie the game at 7-7 and ultimately send the contest into an extra inning.

The Indians scored four runs in the top of the eighth to secure the win.

North Marion (0-1) took its 7-4 lead with six runs in the sixth, capitalizing on multiple Bridgeport fielding errors.
