UPDATE: Beckley shooting victim dies, shooter still at large

Update 4.11.18:

BECKLEY, W.Va. — Beckley Police have announced the victim in Tuesday morning’s shooting died at Charleston Area Medical Center at around 5:15 Tuesday evening.

He has been identified as Corey Jerome Henry, 40 of Beckley. The shooter remains unidentified and is still at large.

Beckley Police are now investigating the case as a homicide.

BECKLEY, W.Va. — One person is in critical condition after an early morning shooting in Beckley.

Beckley Police Captain David Farley said officers responded to the area of West Neville Street and Pike Street at around 4 Tuesday morning. Upon arrival, they located a gunshot victim.

The victim was taken to Raleigh General Hospital then to CAMC in Charleston under critical condition. Parts of Neville and Pike Streets were shut down as detectives investigated the scene.

The shooter has yet to be identified and remains at large. Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Will Pannell or Joe Stewart of the Beckley Police Department.
