Logan County man sentenced for kidnapping, pursuit

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Logan County man was sentenced Thursday to up to 10 years in connection with kidnapping a man and livestreaming what happened on Facebook.

Justin Joel Green, of Chapmanville

Justin Joel Green, 32, of Chapmanville, was charged by authorities in Kanawha and Mingo counties in connection with the May 2017 chase. The 60-mile pursuit began near the Southridge Shopping Center on Corridor G and ended in Williamson.

He pleaded guilty in December to reckless disregard for the safety of others and felony unlawful wounding in Kanawha Circuit Court.

Green was sentenced to two consecutive terms between one and five years for those charges. He was also fined $1,000.

Green faces charges in Mingo County, including attempted murder, malicious assault and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.
