MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — A WVU student was injured Wednesday afternoon after falling off of a balcony on Forest Avenue.
First responders provided emergency treatment to Colton Hodge, 22, a WVU student now at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Hodge fell backwards off of the balcony, which was about 30 feet above the ground.
The incident occurred at 400 Forest Avenue, a rental property with multiple apartments.
He was taken into emergency surgery Wednesday. He is currently in critical condition.
Dean of Students and Associate WVU VP Corey Farris said the University has already been in touch with Hodge’s family.
“We have been in touch with Colton’s family to offer our support during this difficult time. The University also has support and counseling services available through the Carruth Center for students, faculty and staff.”
