Fayette County man faces dozens of felony sex abuse charges

ANSTED, W.Va. — A Fayette County man faces dozens of felony charges following a sexual abuse investigation.

The Detective Bureau of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department investigated a complaint against Robert Knight Jr, 41 of Ansted, after a female relative claimed numerous incidents of sexual abuse.

The victim said the alleged abuses took place when she was between the ages of 9 and 17.

Knight has been charged with 90 felony counts of sexual abuse by a parent or guardian. He was taken to Southern Regional Jail after being unable to post $150,000 bond set by the Fayette County Magistrate’s Office.

Investigators were assisted by the Just for Kids Center. The case remains under investigation.
