Man charged in Fayette County church break-in

LOOKOUT, W.Va. — A Fayette County man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly breaking into and stealing from a church.

Earl Stone, 25 of Gauley Bridge.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department responded at around 7:30 in the evening to the Lookout Baptist Church for a possible break-in. Upon arrival a deputy viewed surveillance footage with the church’s pastor.

The video showed a man breaking into the building a few hours before the discovery of the crime.

Earl Stone, 25 of Gauley Bridge, was taken into custody in connection with the crime. He admitted to committing the act when deputies made contact with him.

Stone faces a felony charge of breaking and entering, as well as a misdemeanor offense of petite larceny. He was placed in the Southern Regional Jail in Raleigh County to await arraignment.
